Introducing.... fanmail - regularly!!
Dear, dear Fleet - are you feeling out of touch with the universe that has grown to love your beautiful face on the network? Not getting any sponsor drops lately? ... Hey players - want to put some excitement into your character's life, or just embarrass the heck out of 'em on intergalactic entertainment television?
Sounds like you'd like to read some Fleet Fanmail!!
As of the latest Atroma network broadcast, the Iskaulit now hosts a digital kiosk with a direct line to some fanmail for the characters in the fleet, written by any of your fans across the universe! Characters can access the kiosk at any time to see what the fans are saying, and they're encouraged to respond - publicly.
The contents of the fanmail can be anything from super serious questions about a character's dark and brooding past, to super ridiculous statements of "hi mom" or "step on me" or just "FIRST!". Feel free to run the gamut with what your fanmail happens to say, and let your character wonder about the collective sanity of the fannish population sometimes...
However, there are some stipulations:
If you want to respond to a fan letter, you MUST make a broadcast about it... or maybe your communicator will "accidentally" broadcast your reaction for you~?
Try not to get into canon material not yet mentioned in game. These are fans of Drift Fleet, not of your other canons!
Characters can only access mail meant for themselves. No mail-jacking!
Interacting with fanmail will definitely increase your ratings - taking things a step further and engaging with other characters based on your fanmail, such as competitions (who is the best singer? who can do the most pushups in a row? who's really the best cook in the fleet?!) or larger discussions, will boost them even more. ... Well, if the fans actually watch it, of course.
And to get the creative juices flowing.... you should check out our old fanmail meme posted last year!
And to really get the creative juices flowing - have a new one!!
You can use the fanmail memes to generate some great ideas for fanmail interaction/broadcasts on the network! While the meme itself obviously will not count towards AC, you're welcome to use threads as ideas for posts (with permission of any others involved!) and of course get AC that way.
Super shout-out and many thanks to RJ, who was the brains behind the original idea of having a recurring, always-open fanmail interaction option. We hope all of you get to enjoy this concept - we're certainly looking forward to seeing what comes from it!
Enjoy your fanmail, fleet! If you have any questions, hit us up here!

You do not have to track down the anon who sent the fanmail - though oocly asking in the thread if anon minds too much wouldn't be a bad idea! But, again, not required.
