Kadaj | Final Fantasy VII Compilation
[He awakes with a small grunt of annoyance. This wasn't right. Mother said they were going somewhere warm and happy, that he and his brothers would be together again, but looking around this place, it was cold and lonely...]
...Mother...?
[He rises, wandering about the room, his expression becoming more and more distraught.] ...Mother? Where did you go?
[And suddenly, that strange boy in the gratuitous amounts of leather...dissipates into a cloud of dark gray, and floats towards a vent only to...spread and then fall back to the ground, re-manifesting into that same, silver-haired, green cat-eyed boy...only this time, he looks, well, pissed.]
Who are you? What have you done with Mother? Where is this?
II. The Baruut System - A Settlement Somewhere!
[Kadaj is first struck by the fact that this place at the end of the universe it seemed was a lot like Edge, the place Big Brother and his friends lived, lives reassembled from so much trash. He still had a hard time understanding why humans would want to live like this, building houses out of the refuse of other lives.
Then again, he thought, as he wandered down a street, too-green cat's eyes moving curiously over the hodge-podge assemblies roughly resembling buildings, weren't he and his brothers just houses built from refuse? He shook his head quickly to clear that particular line of thought, silver hair masking his slightly distraught expression. Mother had gotten what she'd wanted with him, but it'd all been for nothing in the end...]
...a junkyard. Hmm. [He looked around thoughtfully, mind finally on a task again.] ...I wonder if they have weapons, here? One man's trash, right? [He laughs in a sing-song sort of way at his own joke.
...Loz would have laughed. He missed his brothers.]
[ ii ]
You okay there?
[ ii ]
Of course. [And then he looks around at the gathered trash, the oddly assembled buildings, and makes a sweeping motion with one, black-gloved hand.]
Look around! The people here had nothing except what others didn't want, and they built a city. It's inspiring. Do you think the Atroma are trying to tell us something...?
no subject
That they have too much time on their hands?
no subject
Do you think the Atroma built all this?

[And after his point, whatever it was, is made with that mug, he tosses it casually over his shoulder before spreading his arms wide.]
Or maybe they've decided they're finished with us, and they threw us out with the trash.
no subject
Orrr it doesn't really matter what they think?
no subject
There's an idea.
[And he turns his attention back to the gathered mounds of refuse that double as buildings around here.]
Do you think there's any treasure around here, or is it all just trash?
no subject
I mean, it depends on what you're looking for?
no subject
Nevermind. I don't know what I'm looking for anymore, anyway.
[How did people deal with this...this...lack of purpose?]
no subject
Then don't look. Maybe just . . . explore and something will come to you.
no subject
Is that what you were doing? Hoping something interested you?

What the hell was going on?
Hearing the angry voice echoing down the hall, Riku follows it. ]
There's no one else here.
i;
Who are you? You're someone.
i;
Not one of them.. whoever they are. [ After a bit of silence, he glances back at Kadaj. ]
Riku.
i;
Kadaj. [Not knowing things bothered him. Nothing here made sense, and his abilities didn't fully obey him, it just caused a weird sort of thrum in his head when he tried.] How did you get here?
i;
[ He didn't ask, but Riku doesn't really think much on the matter. Kadaj can take it or not. ]
i;
[Which is the only explanation he has for not being able to escape through the ventilation system.]
But what do they want with us? Why take hostages if you don't have any demands?
[He...knows a thing or two about hostages, after all. They're either soldiers, which they know, or lures. He's not a lure for Mother. She would just make another if he failed.]
i;
[ Riku shakes his head. He can't say for sure what the situation is, or why them. ]
i;
...why isn't it working?
i;
i;
[Which just meant they needed to be patience, right? He smiled, though. They may have taken his sword, but that was only one of the abilities Mother had given him.]
If they didn't want us to, they should have tried harder.
i;
[ Riku crossed his arms as he leaned against the wall. ]
It's not poor planning if they brought us here without remembering how we got here in the first place.
i;
Maybe they have a way of assuring that doesn't happen. [His tone shifted somewhat, sounding slightly more adult as the topic shifted.] That happens, you know.
