Drift Fleet Shuffle!

Whoo! This is the official OOC post for the very first Drift Fleet Shuffle! These will pop up every Friday (fingers crossed) to kind of give everyone a heads-up on changes to the crews, and to mark the point when these changes occur IC.

So, with that said, the following changes take place starting nooow:

And for the new captains who are absolutely outraged at this turn of events, they can always file for a resignation! The form on the Ships & Crews page has been edited to include resignation as an option. So... let the game of reluctant-captain-hot-potato begin!

October Star System

We made it to our first system! Congratulations, everyone! I bet you're all eager to get out of your ships and do stuff, so this is the place where you will find what there is to do.

Normally, there will be jobs that you can say your crews are engaging in, and maybe even dangers that they're dealing with, but this first system is pretty tame. For October, there are only way-stations, and a planet that will be coming up later in the month.

Anyone is welcome to make posts from any random station from here on in--implying that your ship is parked to refuel, you're stopping in via shuttle, etc. Way-stations have network screens and bank panels all over, just like on the ships of the fleet, and they work the same way. So, you can have broadcast as well as action elements to any posts made from way stations, if you choose.

Hi, guys! Aly here! I'm just giving a quick explanation of Cecil's latest post, for those who don't have me added on plurk! Two things, real quick:

Basically, Cecil is starting a "missing persons" sort of organization. We're not hiring P.I.'s or clairvoyants who can look into other universes or anything, but think of it like an IC-only wanted list or a collective digital notice board. I've made a top-level where everyone can have their characters post their "ads" and a small template, but feel free to edit, add, and embellish to your hearts' content, as if your characters themselves were asking around for their friends/family/villains-they-feel-deeply-responsible-for. All characters can see the ads, of course. The post is completely open, so feel free to use it as a network mingle, but I'd like to keep IC reactions to the post itself rather than the ads just so loading the ads thread won't be hard as the post grows.

The second thing is the volunteers! This too is like an IC abilities list and Cecil will be policing it as best she can so that nobody is roped into something they don't want to do. Of course, if you want your character to participate but they'd never volunteer themselves, plot out a way for it to happen anyway and I'll have Cecil stand back! Use this post, plurk, AIM, whatever to plot things out. For quick and easy access, use the form below and post to the top-level to sign your character up as a volunteer! There's no deadline or time limit on this. You can have your character get involved at any time. When an IC emergency comes up, Cecil will try to delegate responsibilities to the volunteers, but really, anybody can use the list whenever they need/want. All characters can access it.
