Just like any other system, your time in this one draws to a close. Just like any other drift, the Marsiva begins to pull away, tugging all of the Fleet ships along behind her. Just like any other time, everything is normal as you start to move along.

... For a few hours. After that, you'll notice everything begin to slow. Usually at this point, you've drifted far enough away that the system is just out of sight - but this time, you're still here. The planet is just outside of the Marsiva's radius of influence, so no ships or shuttles can reach her - no landing, for now, unfortunately - but she's still there. And the Marsiva rumbles - quietly, but noticeable - and continues moving slowly... without actually getting any farther away. Seems like, for some reason, it doesn't actually want to leave.

============

As of this post, the Fleet is "drifting"! For... very slow and circle-y values of drifting. But hey, it kind of counts?

The drift period will last until 7/7, taking us straight into endgame. Please see below for details and a timeline of events!

Get ready to rumble! )

The mother ship Marsiva trudges ever on, its gravity inescapable, as it pulls away from the giant fauna planet once and for all. Hopefully you got your share of giant pterrosaur steaks and traded in your fifteen fish, because it's all open space from here!

As of this post, the Fleet is drifting! The drift period will last until 6/3.

In addition to the usual Waystations with their vending machines and questionable artificial parks, there is a relentless string of sponsored stations alternating with so-called Vacation Destinations that are really just tourist traps. Seriously. These other waystations are sponsored by a brand with its own fast food restaurant inside, the most plentiful of which is Floot Loops-- as well as Feet's Coffee, Joka-Kola, and something called "Boop" which no one can figure out. That chain has oxygen bars instead of food for... some reason.

Each tourist trap is more ridiculous than the next, from the Amazing Inside-Out Spaceship to the Planet-Sized Cheese, and then onto stuff like the Universe's Largest Ball of Twine-- you get the idea (and feel free to make up your own). At least you only have to put up with this for two weeks! After that, the Fleet will be arriving in a new system.

What fantastic and probably underwhelming """wonders""" await? Only time will tell...

It's been a wonderful holiday season here on Libuscha IV, but it's time for the Fleet to take its leave! So enjoy your last festive meals here, get one last deep breath of the crisp, wintry air, and get ready to make your way starward once more. Some of the locals might shove some last-minute gifts into your hands before you leave, so be sure to thank them profusely on the way out!

The Interceptors have already slipped away by this point - all the better to escape the notice of Atroma (hopefully). So as the Marsiva pulls away from the planet, tugging all other ships along behind her, there's nothing to do but hang out, relax, and entertain yourselves before the next stop!

... Unless Atroma has other plans... but who knows~? All you can do is... stay tuned!!

As of this post, the Fleet is drifting! The drift period will last from 1/5 to... technically 1/20, but there won't be a new system at that time, per se, because...

CALIBRATIONS!!! )
-----

More information about the rest of the event will be released closer to the starting date. Rest assured, there will be some... twists, turns and surprises... that haven't happened in previous Calibration periods. Gotta keep things fresh, after all~ ♥

If you have questions or want anything clarified about the Calibration rooms, go ahead and respond to the Questions comment below! You can also use the comments section of this post for plotting and interest-gathering, if you'd like!

Hope you've finished any projects and collected any hidden treasures you want, because it's time to leave the system! As the Fleet exits the planet's orbit, feel free to go ahead and toss any trash on your way out. It's not like they won't be able to handle it~

===========

As of this post, the Fleet is drifting! The drift period will last from 10/28 to 11/11.

Waystations on the way out dwindle in frequency over the first few days... until there are absolutely none. The very last one has a handy notification of: "Last rest stop for the next: #########" ... except it's covered in so much graffiti, it's impossible to tell what that number is. Or the units of distance. How unfortunate... Better heed the warning and stock up on fuel and supplies here, before you're really out in space and drifting!

And again, the Fanmail kiosk is still around! Check in on your adoring public!

Now... We have several announcements! Please hang in there with us for a bit! There will be many, many details after the cut, but if you want a short breakdown, here is the tl;dr version:
- Please submit any changes to your ship to the Ships & Crews page! Link below!
- Calibrations will be happening in January! Get pumped, and get ready!
- We're having a Halloween event during this drift period! Yay!

Here we go~! )

Last call for cargo! The Marsiva will begin drifting away from the Hessia-Helix system soon - as of right now, actually! Hopefully you did a lot of shopping, kicked some pirate booty, and all-in-all just enjoyed yourself during your short stay!

Please keep an eye on the cargo and ensure it is safely delivered to the proper recipient in the next system. Thank you for your cooperation!

As of this post, the Fleet is drifting! The drift period will last from 9/11 to 9/25.

Waystations are more or less as they were on the way in - sparsely populated, and still pretty generic. That alien version of Crazy 8s is still around - have you been practicing~?

And again, the Fanmail kiosk is still around! Check in on your adoring public!

… … … Okay, fleet, wanna find out what’s in those darn crates already? )

At long last, the Marsiva begins to pull away from the Yaugur system and its foggy mysteries. The last blinking light of the sun turns into mere starlight, indistinguishable from the countless other stars speckling the velvety realm of space. For some, distance from their nightmares may be a relief. For others, an endless amount of treasure still waits for them, and perhaps some reminder of home.

The Fleet continues ever onward in sprite of that, plotting a course unknown to everyone else. What other adventures does the Fleet have in store? Stay tuned, and you'll find out!

===========

As of this post, the Fleet is drifting! The drift period will last from 8/6 to 8/20.

Though the terrain is still a bit rocky at points, the Waystations are filled with a moderate amount of people all on their way to somewhere else. One may find them playing an alien version of Crazy 8s as part of a trend that has caught on within this corner of the galaxy. Be warned, though-- using a Draw 4 on your captain might result in a demotion! (Not really. But friendships have been severed over less.)

If your character is curious about their fans, don't forget that the Fanmail kiosk is here to stay.

One last game, one last party, one last night out on the town to celebrate a win (or two!)... and then, once again, it's time to move on!

The Marsiva begins to pull away from the system, tugging the entire fleet along behind her, as usual. It's been a fun, exciting stay, but there are bigger and better things to see elsewhere in the vastness of space! What will the next system bring? What excitement is coming your way? You'll just have to stay tuned, Dear Fleet~

===========

As of this post, the Fleet is now drifting! This drifting period will last from 6/8 until 6/22.

The standard waystations will dot the way as you go. In what feels like the exact opposite of before, the waystations earlier in this drift period are far more bustling than the ones later on - must be the proximity to the Yadrolla system. While the later waystations aren't completely abandoned, they're certainly far less lively.

It's around midday when the Marsiva begins to show the first signs of pulling away from the planet, ready to resume its constant forward journey and take everyone right along with it. Consider it a final call: stock up on freebies on this planet while you can, because once the day is done, all Fleet ships will be on their way out of this system.

As for the fate of the solitary, empty city of Nariba Relia: there is little left to do. The people are long gone, the replicator continues doing a job it doesn't even need to be doing. This story has already been told - it ended long, long ago.

Although these people were once sealed away and forgotten, now they are at least remembered by the Fleet. Should anyone else stumble across this unfortunate city in the future, a memorial now stands to honor them all, and to help shed some light on what happened here. In some ways, it may still not be enough - but it's something, and something is more than what was there before.

Say farewell to Nariba Relia and the Lone Breaker System. Now - forward and onward to the next grand adventure of the Drift Fleet.

As of this post, the Fleet is now drifting! This drifting period will last from 4/14 until 4/28.

The standard waystations will dot the way as you go - though there isn't a single sign of any other space travelers stopping in or passing through. This area of space sure is pretty lonely... That changes in the last handful of days, however! There will be the occasional space-faring group or family, taking advantage of the hokey, but convenient waystations while they're making their way elsewhere! Some might notice that many travelers seem to be in a bit of a hurry - but it appears to be due to excitement, at least. Better than the alternative! But what could be up ahead, then~?

Enjoy your last few moments in the suns, dear fleet. Slowly, the Marsiva begins the usual motions of entering a drifting state, and she will of course be tugging all of the ships right along with her. It's time to say goodbye to the system with two suns! Hopefully you enjoyed your stay, and took some beautiful pictures while you could!

Fleet members with keen eyes (or who just watch the file network constantly) will notice that there are two new files:
  • "Sunburn Care - 15 Ways To Treat A Sunburn Including All-Natural At-Home Remedies"
  • "Frostbite Care - 15 Ways To Treat Frostbite Including All-Natural At-Home Remedies"

    Because Atroma Cares!

    (Yes, they are about as obvious/common-sense and otherwise useless/old-wives'-tale as they sound.)

    ===========

    As of this post, we're drifting! The Fleet will be drifting from 2/24 until 3/10.

    The standard waystations will dot the way as you go! At the beginning of the drifting period, Fleeters might see more people hanging around, making their own pit-stops on their way to or from the last system. (It was a popular tourism spot, after all!) This will taper off after a few days, before it's back to the same deserted outposts you've come to expect from this dang show love.

    This evening marks the final multicolored-glass sunset in Berrivalia that the Fleet will get to see - it's time to begin Drifting once again. Right at nightfall, the Marsiva begins to pull herself out of the planet's orbit, bringing all of the Fleet right along behind her, as always. Hopefully you enjoyed your time in the snow!

    May you be refreshed and renewed, ready to take on yet another exciting season of Cycle 12 of Drift Fleet! What exciting things await you in the upcoming season? What drama, what suspense, what adventures? Only time will tell - so stay tuned!

    ===========

    As of this post, we're drifting! The Fleet will be drifting from 1/12 until 1/26. The standard waystations will dot the way as you go, so feel free to get out and stretch your legs! Enjoy some crappy parks! Have some suspectsnacks from vending machines! Enjoy yourselves!

    Meanwhile, we have an announcement to make! As of today, we have A Mod Contact / Feedback Post in a permanent location, for your convenience!

    We realized there was no place to leave game and/or mod feedback aside from contacting us directly, and decided it would be best to remedy that. PMing the mod journal is still the best way to get a hold of us in a pinch, but now, you have other options! For your privacy, comments will be screened, and anonymous commenting is allowed. No IP addresses will be logged. Please feel free to contact us at any time, about anything you may need! We love feedback, we love hearing from you, and we're happy to help with anything we can.

    As always, thanks for being wonderful, Dear Fleeters. Here's to a new season of Cycle 12~

    As of this post, the Fleet is now pulling away from the Lato'li, headed to parts unknown. The Interceptors are staying behind, still assisting the locals where they can. And Zhade will be tagging along with them!! It looks like there's a happy ending for everyone this time around, too.

    But how involved was Atroma? What did they hear or see, and what did they completely miss? Stay tuned and find out next season on Drift Fleet 12!!

    It's the Fleet's final day in the system. The Marsiva will begin drifting onward shortly, all of the ships automatically preparing for regroup and departure.

    The Fate of the Eyuzi System )

    ------

    As of this post, the fleet is now pulling away from the Eyuzi system, full speed ahead and without looking back. We will be drifting from 9/28 to 10/13.

    Your usual garden variety waystations can be found along the way! Of note during this two-week drifting period: The first few waystations the fleet happens across will have many Lyukite families holed up there - ones that escaped on their own ships, or somehow found a ride away from the space station. Perhaps they're on their way to start lives elsewhere, or maybe they haven't heard the good news yet - feel free to let them know!

    Later into the second week, the waystations become more and more deserted. Run-down. Almost flat-out abandoned. A few even look like anyone there may have just dropped everything and left in a hurry.

    Happy Drifting, dear fleet!!

    First: We would like to apologize, dear fleet - scheduling got a little off, and so, drifting is happening a couple days late. We're sincerely sorry!

    However! As of this post, the fleet is now pulling away from the Kayanni system, with a course already set toward locations unknown! We will be drifting from 8/26 to 8/31. Your usual garden variety waystations can be found along the way, so get out and stretch your legs a bit if you feel like doing so.

    A minor, but special note: On the last two days of drifting, give or take, (so: 8/30 and 8/31) the fleet will enter a very sparse asteroid field! No fancy piloting or dodging necessary, but it's quite a sight nonetheless. So, enjoy the view! And hey, play some shuttle hide-and-seek, if you're really bored!

    Stay tuned: we will approach a new system on 9/1! We would also like to call to your attention that the September system, as well as the October system, will have far more involvement plot-wise... so be prepared, contestants!
