Hello, Flooters!

As announced previously, the entire mod team is going to be unavailable or extremely busy the last week of May and the first week of June. In line with other scheduling changes this month, applications are on hold for the next two weeks. You are free to submit apps but they will not be processed until June 7th. This is to ensure we are not stranding characters on the Marsiva for too long-- just in case someone else organizes some kind of doomed rescue mission...

Shuffles (transfers/drops/rank changes) will be processed as usual otherwise.

Thank you!

Hello, dear players! We have a wonderful announcement to make!

We received a large number of very impressive "apps" for mod helper, from some very amazing people. It was an incredibly tough decision, but after much deliberation, we have chosen our two new mod helpers!

Congratulations to Rachel and Sailor G!! Welcome to the Mod Team!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment and offer some much needed help. We couldn't be more grateful for such a fantastic group of people. Keep being awesome, all of you! We love and appreciate you! ♥

The Ball is now up! The Heist will come up later today (once the NPCing mods get home cough). The heist is now up too!

Information about either events can be found on their mingles! A conclusion info post will go up on Sunday May 14, but we emphasize again that as always, this is a very back-tag friendly event.

If you are participating in the heist with a character that’s interested in stealing stuff besides things relevant to Atroma, comment to this post and we’ll let you know what your character can get!

And as always, if you have any questions about either event, feel free to leave a question here!

Hello, dear Fleet! Feeling a little bit fancy lately? Want an excuse to get all dressed up and schmooze with the system's finest people? Just want some free food and booze? Well, we have a golden opportunity for you: A formal ball has been announced, invitations reaching all throughout the asteroids! And as welcome visitors to the system, you are of course cordially invited to attend as well!

By the end of the second week, the rumors slowly begin to fade away. No new ones seem to appear, and the old ones are left to linger or be forgotten. But now after a long journey through the depths of space, the Marsiva finally reaches orbit of a new system.

As of the end of the day (4/01), the Marsiva will be leaving the Mahig system, tugging the Fleet right along with her. Traffic along this new route starts out moderate, but the further away from the planet the Marsiva travels, the fewer other ships can be seen. Still, the way is littered with the occasional typical way-station, should anyone feel the need to get out of the ship and stretch their legs.

While drifting. things might get a little... interesting. It seems like fans of the Drift Fleet have been extra chatty lately, and Sponsors from all over want to show you their thanks - with extra special sponsor drops! Though, some of these drops seem pretty strange. Just what exactly are the fans saying about all of you to inspire this...?

It's been a couple weeks since arriving to Mafik. Several passengers have been hard at work, trying to get to the bottom of the mysterious illness that's been hurting the local population. Well, after days of research, it looks like your efforts are about to pay off…

The fleet continues on it's course. The neighboring system to Rew isn't far, so only within a few days of flying does the Marsiva reach its next destination.

Grab your supplies and do one last lap around the ring. By the end of the day today (3/01), the Marsiva will be heading out of the system into parts unknown. The path they are following seems to be an established travel route, as there’s a decent amount of ship traffic along the way from Co’kal, Daisoe, and human ships.

The week of travel has passed on peacefully. Aside from a few unusual glitches on a number of ships, the drift week has been much less eventful than the last time. Space traffic picks up as the Marsiva approaches the next system. This isn’t the busiest stretch of space the fleet has come across, it’s enough to signal that yet again, the fleet has reached a new system.

Ships repaired and wounds mended, by the end of the day the Marsiva begins to move out of the system and into parts unknown. The standard waystations are along the way as usual, and interstellar traffic slowly picks up as to a medium crawl as the fleet travels this week.

Hello, our dear Drift Fleet friends! Red and Stick here with an update in important happenings that have been going on behind the scenes.

As we've mentioned in the past, we have been doing a lot of internal restructuring of the game as our availability and lives have changed over the last several months. Our entire team of helpers has been amazing during the whole process--slowly taking on duties one-by-one, keeping things organized, and streamlining any area of the game that we haven't been able to manage ourselves. They've even been running plots and coming up with great event ideas during the last couple of months.

We feel very comfortable in announcing that Yuff, Saffy, and Maggie are now officially considered Drift Fleet moderators, instead of just mod-helpers. Congrats, you three! You've been totally invaluable in keeping the game surviving and growing, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As for us (Stick & Red)--health problems and growing real-life responsibilities don't seem to be getting easier any time soon, so we have dropped our characters from the game and are continuing to hand over aspects of moderation that we no longer have the time or energy to take care of. For now, we're both still considered moderators ourselves, though our roles have been greatly reduced. Stick is stepping out almost entirely, and Red is now mostly in charge of creative direction and world-plot things--though they're slowly working on handing those responsibilities over as well.

We are stepping back, but we'll still be around! While most game-related questions should be directed to our three new mods, we will still be available on plurk (or PM on any of our character journals) for chatting and whatnot. You are all incredibly special to us both, and we're both grateful and happily stunned at the community that has grown here. When we first started this game, it was essentially a glorified musebox where our RP-weary friends could come hang out and have a relaxed, easygoing time with a positive collection of players. We are so happy to know that even though our game has grown far bigger and busier than we ever could have anticipated, the game has never lost sight of its original goal.

As always, if anyone has any questions or concerns about anything, don't hesitate to let us know! The titles might be changing around a bit, but nothing will really be changing as far as rules, gameplay, or the heart of the game goes.

Thanks, everyone!

It’s been a few days since the raiders attacked. Thanks to the combined efforts of your crews and the other fleet, you made it out alive. But there’s no doubt repairs need to be done and people need to be treated. Luckily, it’s only a couple of days before the next system comes into range.

The Drift Fleet has been drifting away from the Hotel Corona for a few days now. It must be following a lesser known route to tourists, as the space traffic has been downright scarce. There’s been the occasional blips spotted in the nebulae, but otherwise, it’s been quiet.

Well that’s about to change.

Hotel keys turned in and souvenirs purchased, on the morning of the 10th the Marsiva begins to move out of the system and into parts unknown. The current course is through a gap of space between two nebulae clusters, leaving the passengers with more stunning views and very low space traffic from other ships. The standard waystations are along the way, each one almost entirely vacant of other travelers.

Those keeping an eye on the nebulae may get a glimpse of a blip once and awhile on the radar, but the interference is once again too strong to see anything else. For now, there’s not much else to do but continue your way.

The Marsiva and the fleet are still in range of the December System for another week, but those keeping a watchful eye to the skies will notice something unusual deep within the nebula clouds.

After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.

It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.

As the Marsiva finally pulls away from the clutches of the Lagan System (and drags the rest of the Fleet along with her), it nearly seems as though the mystery of the encoded message will remain a mystery forever. Through the Hosts' distracting lure of the party deck, the passengers race to put the clues of the message together, but a few pieces remain missing... until the very last moment.
