The first native after A'Tuin and the elephants, really.

SURPRISE~ Or not surprise, I pretty much screamed about this for a couple of weeks on Plurk. It's ya gurl Rosie here with another male(ish) character who I hold near and dear to my heart. This one is even skinnier than Mantis and is known as Death. Not of Earth or of the universe, but of a lovely flat planet on the back of four elephants on the back of a giant turtle called Discworld. The novels were written by the late and great Terry Pratchett and while I have many favorite character from the books, this skeleton in a robe is pretty much the top of the list.

Death is a sweet old man in spite of the lack of flesh and the clear understanding that he's meant to reap the souls of the dead and shuffle them on to the next part of life. He only looks creepy. Give him a cat and he'll basically sit down it and not move until the cat does. He also cooks, which logically doesn't make sense, but it's also the one true creative thing he's actually good at.

I am excite. And I hope you are too. I am soooooo looking forward to seeing what ship he lands on cause this reaper is at least six and a half feet tall and wears black all the damn time.

Hello, Fleeters! There’s some important information below, so please give it a read.

It’s been over a year since we became the official head mods of Drift Fleet. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but we love every minute of modding this game for you! However, we’ve always worked better with three people instead of two.

Right now the major mod responsibilities are split between Saffy and Maggie, with our two amazing helpers checking AC and processing drops when we can’t. Rachel and Sailor G have saved our butts on more than one occasion and we appreciate everything they do! Unfortunately, life has been hitting both of us without any breaks. This means that we have less time to go over the details, less time to write plots, and less time to focus on the game entirely.

To help the situation, we are looking for a third head mod to help with higher level mod duties and plot-writing.

We are NOT considering stepping down or closing the game. Even if we don't get a response, there is no danger to the future of the game. We have carried on like this for several months and we could probably carry on a few more, but we thought it would be in everyone’s best interest if we asked for help sooner rather than later. The fact of the matter is that many things in this game require personalized touches: smaller plots, bigger plots, perks for certain augments and powers, NPCing, etc. And we just don’t have the resources to do all of that in a sustainable and satisfactory way. We want to make this a good experience for you, our players, because that’s what keeps us going. So, not being able to function at 100% is really disappointing.

A third mod will lighten our workload, and it also keeps the game stable if one or both of us can’t perform our duties. Since we currently live in the same apartment this is a bit more likely than you’d think.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in helping with, please read on.

Responsibilities

Pinch-hitting the big things. We’ll teach you how to run the game, essentially, if something needs to be done and we can’t do it. We actually have tutorials written up for most of it!

Checking AC and hiatuses throughout the month, and logging them on the appropriate spreadsheets as needed.

Creative writing. Helping flesh out events/systems, pitching ideas, and possibly (optionally) NPCing, if interested!

Answering questions. We get a lot of 'em, especially when we reach new and interesting systems! An extra pair of eyes would really help.

Tie-breaking. Just in case. Three heads are better than two! Or something like that...

Perks of becoming a mod include metaplot knowledge (if you don’t want huge spoilers, mark that below), influencing game events/plots by setting your creative ideas into motion, and being able to make that “I know something you don’t” face at the players.

canon update

Hello everyone!

As of this post, Leilani has gone through her canon update from her time point at just before the end of Trespasser to right after Trespasser! This means that she now no longer has the Anchor and is, instead, missing her arm completely with no prosthetic in its place.

She's also sad again, but that's fine, no worries, it's just her boyfriend, whatever.
