As you all leave the range of the casinos and mystery planet behind, space is very quiet. Things will start happenings next week, but for now, here's how the space looks.
→ Completely harmless radiation
The farther the fleet gets from the planet, the clearer the frequencies become. Broadcasts are no longer choked with static or delayed, and all scanning instruments return to total functionality.
→ Space clutter
It's a good thing that you can reliably see where you're going again, because the Marsiva is taking you all on a little field trip through a big fat asteroid belt. There's lots of space-junk here, but it's pretty much harmless... unless you don't have a pilot. Ships stuck on auto-pilot might find that the computers' dodging protocols are not flawless, so blasting a few of those asteroids out of the way might be a good idea.
→ Blips on the radar
And as that interference clears up, a few familiar signatures can briefly be spotted hiding out in the clutter. Those ships that have bothered the fleet and hidden in interference in the past are out there again. And, as they have done before, they flee outside of the fleet's range shortly after they are detected, and ignore any attempts at communication. At least they're not shooting at you this time, so... that's something.
→ Way-stations
The plain, default way-stations are still scattered throughout this stretch of space, as they usually are. But these are just about as empty and run-down as the ones that the fleet first encountered. It seems that the Marsiva is leaving the busy interstellar highway again, and heading into lonelier space. No more fancy vacation stations for a while, apparently.
Tune in next week for further updates!
